1. 2015 CONFERENCE - Don't forget, May 7-8, 2015. The branch is organizing a conference: "Maritime Energy Transport: Today and Tomorrow in the Pacific Northwest". The first day of the conference will examine the driving incentives for energy transport in the Pacific Northwest (the respective visions of government and industry, and relate them to the global economic context of the energy trade), with the second day will continuing the discussion by following-up with operational concerns (navigation and anti-collision, traffic management, pilotage and tug-escort, training and certification, and security). This will be held in Victoria, more details to follow.
2. MEMBERSHIP - If your membership status is MNI, but have since held command at sea or another senior position, you may wish to consider changing your membership to AFNI. Membership Categories and Criteria may be found: here http://www.nautinst.org/en/membership/categories-criteria-and-fees.cfm
3. NPESC BURSARY REPORT - Please see attached.
4. COMMITTEE MEETING - The next meeting of the committee will be December 9, 2014, sailing ex-Tsawwassen at 5pm.
